Now a days a common question is arising at the minds of parents of all school going children is regarding the best choice for private education – private classes or coaching classes ?

The inability of school teachers to either complete the syllabus or help every student to understand the concept has forced the parents to look for source of teacher.

But as more as teacher under the pressure from the school management to perform unable to teach to their maximum syllabus, private tutors slowly find increasing number of students ready to taught by them.

The coaching centers may have been established with honorable intention in mind. As the institute begains to face success . But the increasing number of students and profit of the student – teacher ratio begins to increase again.

Hence there are two important factors to keep in mind while deciding to send the child to a coaching class or private tutor :-

Student – teacher ratio :- This is defined as the number of students per teacher. As the ratio decrease the amount of attention paid by the teacher towards the child increase. This is the most important factor to be considered. The lower ratio is better and gives importance to their child . Coaching classes can have more then 50 students in a class or could have less then 10 students in a class.

Comfort level of the students :- Not all the student are comfortable in a classroom situation or with the teacher. That is why their grades may have dipped at first place . A student’s comfort level with the teacher should also given importance. To focus and guide the student based on the students attitude.

Tuition fees :- Coaching classes may seem to be a one stop solution where all subjects are taught . This is why most of the coaching centres are high reputed .

Private tutions :- Some students may easile understand in whatever surrounding they are in .But many students may find in difficulty to adapt to the teaching in packed classroom . For such students private tutions may be the best choice .

  • Private tutors usually teach a handful of students. Hence the student teacher ratio is very low , meaning a lot of attention can be paid to individual student.
  • As some tutor may even come to teach the student’s home , the student may feel comfortable with the teacher and learn faster then expectations.
  • However, there is a catch in a case of private tuition . Finding a coaching centres in the neighbourhood is very easy . But finding the right tutor for the child is difficult and required a careful judgement .

In short choosing between a coaching centre and private tuition is not easy . It required careful consideration of the student’s mentality and student- teacher ratio before choosing the best option.
